The transplantation was carried out on March 24th in the "Centro Regionale di Eccellenza in Oftalmologia" of G.

d'Annunzio University, Chieti- Pescara, headed by Prof.

Leonardo Mastropasqua.

This new technique consents to do incredibly precise cuts on the eye tissue eliminating the use of scalpels, trepans and blades.

"This technique applies a high quantity of small laser spots near to each other creating a highly regular cut, therefore position, extension and depth can be determined with exceptional precision.

In this way the limit of traditional surgery is overcome, leading to higher quality of sight and a speedy recovery of functionality", explained Mastropasqua.
